Well I must be doing something right: this week I spent $67 at the local grocery store to feed two people (but not the two cats: they are definitely pampered when it comes to feeding time!) I bought lettuce, cukes, zukes, yellow squash, bananas, melons, cheese, juice, yogurt, canned beans, two boxes of cereal and some “lady things” (I know that they’re not edible, but unfortunately they are a necessity) Never been on food stamps, but we had WIC for a while. Having a largish family and a smallish income made it a challenge to pinch every penny. We eat pretty well around here and never go hungry. Just ask my daughter the Parsnip.
